LANDesk v9.6 Agent - Upgrade/Install

Is there a cheap and easy way to update the existing 9.5SP1/2 agents to the 9.6 agent from within the LANDesk Console?

 

I'm looking for a way that will have the current agents scan and update themselves as was described in :How To: Upgrade or Patch LANDESK Agents.

This worked for updating from 9.5SP1 to 9.5SP2, I can't seem to get it to work for 9.6 unless this is by design.

Hello,

In my case: The server which needs to install agent necessary use .NET V.4.5.2 for the specific program.

so  I want to know..

 

Q: The agent will use .NET V.4.5.2 (existing) or download higher version to use?

Q: How can I check the agent that installed used what version of.NET?

The user of schedule Service is Administrator on End Point. The endpoint is on ping, the DNS is ok  and i can share c$ with this user. Any idea ?

Hello.

I have in a network over 1000 windows PC with agent installed via landesk console.

All agents have it-s own Endpoint Security settings? including device block policy etc.

 

Now i need to configure installition package via windows AD GPO.

Is it possible to make package and GPO policy to achieve this goal - install landesk agent (maybe advance agent) only on PC, where agent is not installed yet?

Can anyone help with this problem - or has anyone else seen it.

 

We are migrating our Agents over from a 95 core and this is what we see.

 

A fresh machine and fresh install no problems.

 

I run a uninstallwinclient with forceclean and registry clean, directory clean so there is no trace of the agent.

 

When we install the 2016 agent we can scan it from the console, but if i scan it in a task i get this error.

We can run a repair job for patches however it will return this error - the part of the log file that is the issue is this.

The settings file is downloading from the core - the XML file is on the client

 

I have tried replacing the inventorysettingsbehavior_apply.dll from a working machine. No joy.

 

I have resaved the agent settings - no joy -

 

the problem is this fail in the vulscan.log file will send a fail status back to the core.

 

out of 300 machines 135 of them behave like this. so from a status stand point it looks bad - these are the 300 first machines we are cutting over -

 

Landesk is saying to recreate the agent from scratch and all settings which i am reluctant to do as i have already tried brand new settings and the agent we have works on a fresh machine - we even see it working on machines that have been cut over but the majority are failing with this error.

 

if anyone can chime it would be greatly appreciated - the call is still open with landesk support also just seeing if the community can help.

How to check agent status

Hi all,

 

How can I check the agent status from management console? I mean the endpoint is shut down or not, the agent is running or not, the remote control is listening or not, etc.

 

If yes, can I check all of the agents status by a single view or I have to check the status one by one?

Mac Agent Deployment Fails with Error 1083 after Upgrading to 2017.3 SU1

Title pretty much explains it all. We upgraded from EPM 2017.1 to EPM 2017.3 SU1 and when I schedule a Mac agent push it fails. The return code is 1083 and result "The agent setup program returned an error." I am able to successfully push out the Windows agent, just not the Mac agent. I have double checked to make sure that I have an account from the Mac in the scheduler service alternate credentials.

 

Not sure where to go from here, any input would be helpful.

Hello,

 

Here's my problem:

 

- i've created an advance agent and i used the UDD to discover some computer on my network.

 

If i create a scheduled task for the agent (push) and run the task it will stay active forever so i had to delete the task.

I've also noticed that if i use the "tutorial" about UDD and create a schedule task (instad od clicking "run now"), the task wil lstart but never end.

 

The account use for the scheduler is a domain account who is local admin of any computer.

The account is alos on the l"Landesk  Administrators" group on the Core server.

 

I have no error and i don't know where to look (logs, etc...).

 

Can you help me?

Unable to deploy agent to unmanaged endpoint

I've been attempted to deploy to an unmanaged endpoint that was discovered through the UDD (Unmanaged Device Discovery).  The endpoint is a laptop, hardwired, win7 x64, with the firewall turned off.  It is part of the default WORKGROUP domain.  Our Scheduler service is using the "LocalSystem" account.

 

With all that in mind it still fails with the message "Unable to contact the specified machine.  The machine may be off or unreachable." return code: 1087

 

I am able to ping the device on the IP address that LD is attempting to use.  Thoughts?  Places I could check for a better error message?

Agent Configuration - Unable to delete

I am unable to remove an old agent configuration.

 

I received the following error:

 

(Agent Name) can't be deleted because it is currently scheduled

I am sure that I have deleted all tasks and packages related to this configuration.

 

I am using LDMS 9.5 SP1  9.50.1.6159B

 

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Agentless Scanner Criteria

I'm running 2016.3

 

Just upgraded to 2016.3 and trying to upgrade my clients with a new agent. I noticed in the Network View under Agentless I have a bunch of computers listed.

 

Some after checking C drive program files or program files (x86) have a full new agent install and others are missing files in the shared files folder.

The ones that seem to have a full newest agent installed, if I try to do a inventory scan, it pops up a message " 1 agentless devices have been marked for an inventory scan in the upcoming scan cycle" My scan cycle should be when a user logs in after 1 hour or every 2 days.

 

 

 

So my question is what makes these computers part of the agentless scanner group?

Hi to all! i deployed agent in 1 practice node but i encountered this error "An Error Occured While Copying the Agent Software" There is the log file "[Operation failed] RemoteExecute, cmd /c mkdir C:\$ldcfg$"

 

          Is there anyone who can help me?tnx and more power!

Agents On An Image

I've seen this in various docs but still don't have the definitive answer.

 

We build our Windows 7 images, add applications and config, sysprep and then capture the image. With some of my other agent based software, the vendor gives us registry keys to delete or modify so that when we set up the machine for the user, the correct information will be there...no duplicates, etc.  Note that I'm not using LD to deploy the OS.

 

For LD, I've seen: "Can't use an agent on an image" or "change these reg keys" or "sometimes it works, sometimes not", "Forget about it, just do an unmanaged device rollout when the machines are on the domain."

 

So which way to go here? We are now creating student images for our summer rollout.

Linux Agent install no core connection

Hi everyone,

 

I have some questions regarding the deploy of a linux agent on a SUSE Linux unmanaged device.

- It is possible to deploy an agent without a direct connection to the core server?

- It is possible to use ldiscan.sh to create an inventory file to later import it in the core server?

 

This is because i need only the inventory on a few machines on separate network and i would like to have all device inventory in one place.

I have already tried to manually run ldiscan.sh but while trying to solve all library prerequisites but it gave me this error:

Common Base Agent Not Loaded

Having a problem with the common base agent not loading onto some of our servers(Server 2003 and Server 2008). Does anyone have any idea why the agent would not be able to load from the deployment. We tried doing it through Unmanaged Device Deployment and through loading the agent directly on the server.

 

See attached image for details.

Agent does not install on HP Thin Client

Hi,

When i try to install the agent on an HP t520 Thin Client, nothing happens and it creates a text file called "LandeskClientInstallStatus.txt" with this inside.."Done 643 130839641112355039"

 

Any ideas?

Devices become very slow after installing LANDesk Agent

Hi All,

 

when i push the agent to all devices all PCs become very slow and stuck many times, even i check the agent configuration all the schedules tasks for Anti-virus or iventory scan is not working during the slow times in the PC, i check the agent wacher and make the interval time every 3 hours but the PC still slow, All PC is (i5) cpus and 4 GB of RAM.
