I had 9.0 SP1 before deploying agents to around 1500 computers. After installing SP2, I set the SP2 update to autofix. If I push a new agent out from UDD, the SP2 agent gets installed. I've had some computers upgrade on their own.
On two computers (as a test), multiple inventory scans did not change the client agent version. I then created a scheduled task and started it for those two computers. One showed Done, All patches installed successfully. It still shows the old agent version in inventory, even after multiple inventory scans. The other computer shows Failed, Could not run at client, Return code 1204. There is no log file, so I have no idea what this means!
On the same computer showing 1204, I manually ran wscfg32.exe and got the new version.
So, what causes this error and what's the right way to get all the clients updated? I had high hopes the every computer checking in would be updated automatically.
