For some odd reason, I have been unsuccessful in upgrading the LANDesk agent to 9.00.0.473 on at least 3 of our workstations.
All 3 workstations (Windows XP SP3) have been running with the 8.80.411 agent with no issues, but apparently experienced a LD agent meltdown after the 9.0 client was deployed.
After the LD 9.0 agent was deployed to these 3 workstations, their Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition Client (10.1.9.9000) appeared to break as well (required a reinstall on all 3 workstations).
Interestingly, I have also been unable to remove the LANDesk agent, as the workstations all return the following error when the uninstallwinclient.exe program is run.
Attempting to install the 9.0 agent on the 3 workstations results in the following error
This persists despite rebooting the workstations/laptops (there isn't a common denominator in respect to hardware..etc..), running a disk clean, running the Windows Installer clean up utility, scanning the registry for anomalies..etc....
Oddly enough, re-running (over top of the broken agent) the older 8.8.411 agent on these 3 workstations (overtop of the broken 9.0 agent) will normalize the client (installs successfully) and all LANDesk processes return to normal (am able to communicate with the devices via the LDMS console, remote control...etc...)
Again, once I try to install the LANDesk 9.0 agent onto these 3 machines, the LANDesk services break.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to come up with a solution to address these 3 workstations.
Awhile back, I contacted LANDesk about a similar issue I experienced with a workstation running with agent version 8.20.2.15..and after about 5-6 hours of troubleshooting, their response was to reimage the workstation.
Please let me know if there are any additional steps I can take in order to remove the LANDesk agent (force remove switch...etc...), and get the 9.0 client working on these 3 workstations.
Thanks! :-)
