Hi,
This is a question centering around information that Jack Coates has posted on his DroppedPackets site:
Awhile back we updated all of our LD agents with some new configuration options and rolled that out via GPO as its a better fit in our environment. However this did result in our existing XDD agents being 'wiped out'. After finding Jack's article on how to get XDD working again without having to create and redeploy agents I thought I'd found the solution but obviously I'm missing something.
I've created a file distribution script which is supposed to copy the needed files to the target pc (see attached XDD Files.ini), and then created a custom script to register the xddclient (xddcleint.exe /regsvr - see attached script Register XDD.ini).
Deploying the scripts I'm seeing errors on the file deployment in scheduled tasks for the file transfer; "The process cannot access the file because it's being used by another process." This is a fresh PC with only our base agent and no XDD installed. I can see that the files have been copied by browsing the target pc directory.
Then with the custom script for registering the xddclient the error "The system cannot find the file specified" comes up.
Reviewing my scripts I can't see anything obvious but then again I haven't tried custom scripts before.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Matt
