%LOCALAPPDATA% folder in Windows 7 - ??

Hi,

 

Everytime when I installed the LDMS 9.0 agent (manually, push or via provisioning) on Windows 7 only there is a folder created in the root system (C:\) called %LOCALAPPDATA%. It's look like a variable wrong coded.

 

Some people can confirm that?? In that case I will open a call....

MBBScanner has stopped working

Hello,

 

after upgrading agents to 2017.3, when running inventory scan, many computers experience error  MBBScanner has stopped working.

 

Event viewer shows the following:

 

It has not happened on my test machines. So far I have disabled the Scheduled scan, but this is not a solution.

 

Thank you for any input or suggestion how to resolve this.

Agent 2016 - Targeted Multicast Client Service Executable - tmcsvc.exe very high CPU on all clients/servers

Hello,

 

at the moment I'am investigating a alarming situation on all of our 2016 Clients and Servers.

 

We have very high CPU usage on all of our systems for the tmcsvc.exe (Multicast Services). The Clients work halfway okay with that load - but on our servers I see real performance issues.

We did not even activated Multicast in our Distribution and Patch Settings - so I have no glue where the high cpu comes from.

Perfmon shows me high read/write Operations accompanied by the high CPU peaks.

LDDellOMCI.exe and ldHPsensors.exe Agent errors since 2016.3

Has anyone come about the following errors with their agent since updating to 2016.3?

We noticed it during tests with the agent before deploying it or using it on re-imaged laptops.

Ivanti provided an updatd ldHPsensors.exe version which fixed it but have not come back with a fix for LDDellOMCI.exe.

Apart from the above images during builds, we get Application Event log spams every day regarding the error.

We are currently holding off on updating the Agents but just curious if anyone has the same issues or found a workaround for the error?

Landesk Agent : EXE files with Command Lines

Hello,

 

The goal of the discussion is to full fill all exe files with their command lines, inside a list.
And then, explain the usage of the exe file.
By myself, I already build this kinf of list, but it's not full filled.

 

For exemple :

     LDInventoryProvider.exe

....using with the parameter "/?"...

...the result is :

 

usage: C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LDClient\LDInventoryProvider.exe [options]

  -p [port]     Port for sockets phase

  -c            Skip stdio phase

  -d path       Configuration directory (default is module path)

  -v[#]         Display version information

  -V#           Verbosity mask

  -l [path]     Log file name

  -s            Request ready signal

  -f            First run flag

  -o [cmd]      Single command, stdio mode only

  -O [cmd]      Single command, stdio mode only, output file

On this exemple, I'm not able to know the usage of this exe file.

 

I would like to find a documentation or a other post that explain the 71 EXE files stored inside the Landesk Agent 9.0 SP4. (Windows).

(I also plan to do the same job with Landesk 9.6 SP1)

 

The final goal is to understand each exe files, and try to use them inside scripts to manage the Landesk Agent.

Not able to edit existing Mac agent configurations

We upgraded to EPM 2018.3 about a month ago from EPM 2017.3 SU5 and now users have lost the ability to edit agent configurations that they had created before the upgrade. I thought it was related to some permissions issue but they are able to create new agent configurations just not able to edit previously created ones. Is anyone else experiencing this?

May I please ask if anyone could please help me understand how the “LDreboot” process detects if the PC needs a reboot?  Specifically, does it monitor files or registry keys, and if so, what are they?

Recuring ESENT errors in eventlog

Hi,

 

on one of our Servers we see every 5 minutes recuring ESENT errors in eventlog.

 

services (484) An attempt to create the file "\\server.tld.org\ldlogon\new.sdb" failed with system error 5 (0x00000005): "Access is denied. ".  The create file operation will fail with error -1032 (0xfffffbf8).

services (484) Unable to write a shadowed header for file \\server.tld.org\ldlogon\new.sdb. Error -1032.

services (484) Database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error -1032.

 

We have uninstalled the landesk agent but no succes. We have no clue whats triggers this error every 5 minutes.

Certificate-based authentication failed - certificate not presented

Hello,

 

We have recently upgraded to LANDesk 2016.3 and are in the process of deploying the updated agent to all the machines. Im very new to this Certificate-based authentication.

Once the agent has been deployed i have been going into Configure > client access and approving all the  machines. There are a number of machines that show as Authentication failed and when checking the query the certificate validation result shows as either Pending approval or certificate not approved.

However when i check the approved list in Configure > client access those machines have been approved.

How can this be fixed so they all have valid certificates?

Agent does not install on HP Thin Client

Hi,

When i try to install the agent on an HP t520 Thin Client, nothing happens and it creates a text file called "LandeskClientInstallStatus.txt" with this inside.."Done 643 130839641112355039"

 

Any ideas?

Laptop agent and CSA

Hi,

Can anybody help with this. I installed our laptop agent on a laptop and I want to deploy software to the laptop if the user is on their home network/wifi.

I am testing the laptop with a hotspot connection but when i do an inventory scan it cannot find the core server. I figure the easiest way to deploy software would be through the Portal Manager.

Any ideas? Any settings with the laptop agent that need to be changed?

How do we remove an agent?

I've been thru the manual, and can only find 1 or 2 instances of "remove agent", and hundreds of instances of either word by itself.

 

We have one user who is being harrassed by LD.  Every day LD wants to install some update/patch...even after we apply everything there is to apply manually, using remote control.

 

We don't know specifically what it's trying to install.  We thought for the moment that we'd just remove the agent.  But we don't know how.  I had seen LANDesk listed under Add/Remove SW on my PC, but when I connected to his, it wasn't there.  We're assuming that my LANDesk listing was for the console, rather than for the agent.

BrokerConfig.exe can't reach CSA

LDMS 9.6 SP2 via CSA

 

After deploying agent, I can not access the machine (Remote or ping or anything) It is added however to all devices in the core.

When testing the BrokerConfig.exe I get this error:

Managed devices stuck in 'Pending unmanaged client deployments' folder

Hello everybody.

 

I am trying to deploy agents through scheduled tasks on devices (some of them where registered devices with old agents that were manually uninstalled and deleted then from the console), when the process finishes and the task returns a successful state, instead of appearing in 'all devices' folder under the network view, they get stuck in the 'Pending unmanaged client deployments' folder.

 

I checked that the device reboots properly after the installation and that the tasks configured in the local scheduler are right. I have waited also that the agent sends the inventory following that schedule but they still doesn't appear in network view (my inventory agent configuration is set up with a frequency of 1 hour).

 

I also have checked that new entries are generated in the Computer table in the database but it doesn't generate an Device ID for them (the field "DeviceId" appears with the value 'Unassigned'.

How can I troubleshoot this? Is there a log where it can tell me what is going on?

 

I checked the event viewer in the core server too and it shows no related messages appart from processing inventory scans from devices that have a device ID.

 

Also I can not see failed scan files for the devices in any of the sub folders in the 'ldscan' folder. All Landesk services in the core server are up and running.

How changes to Agent Configurations and Settings are propagated to clients?

I changed some settings in my Portal Manager in Agent Settings, this is part of a deployed Agent Configuration, after I saved the changes, how do I push those changes to the clients?

I set the auto sync to Yes, in both the Portal Configuration an in the Agent Configuration, do I have to wait x amount of time for the changes to be sync? Or auto sync is for a complete different task?

I ran a update to agent settings task which ran successfully, but the changes to the portal are not reflected. Any idea?
